History

32nd Pack is a Queens-based contemporary dance company founded in 2021 by Caroline Sherwood, Rachel Daly, and Vivian Lucas. Their work is rooted in communication, collaboration, and community, often bringing human experience into dance. The company's work explores themes such as personal transformation, resiliency, and womanhood while using theatrical elements and storytelling to support their full-bodied movement.

32nd Pack has performed in venues across New York State. Their work at the 2022 Winter Follies Festival awarded them the “People’s Choice” residency. This opportunity led to their first full-length show that was presented in December 2022 at Spoke the Hub. Their work has been performed at venues such as Ailey Citigroup Theater, Dixons Place, Callahan Theater at Nazareth University, Chain Theatre and TADA Theater.

Mission

32nd Pack’s mission is to create accessible dance experiences that all people can relate and connect to. The company strives to foster connections between the audience and dancers through authentic movement and common experience. 32nd Pack’s work draws from their own personal stories and perspectives. They hope their work appeals to audiences that feel a familiarity within their storytelling or to ones whose eyes may be opened to new perspectives. 32nd aims to create an atmosphere that the audience wants to return to, leaving people feeling welcomed and curious for more.

32nd Pack also believes in creating accessible dance spaces for adult dancers. The company provides low cost dance classes that are built to support the whole dancer. Taught by Rachel Daly (MSW), the classes are focused on giving dancers an opportunity to develop their artistry while nurturing their voice and emotional health. The company’s goal is to create an encouraging and supportive dance community that is accessible for all dancers.
